Hi! I bought some ATMEGA168PA-AU , it's a new IC with 1K of Ram. I had to put the bootloader and a sketch. so let's start:
I have an USBtinyISP AVR programmer and an arduino 2009, some wires and a breadboard. I use only the ArduinoIde to program.
BURN BOOTLOADER
go into arduino-0022\arduino-0022\hardware\tools\avr\etc and open avrdude.conf
at line 7073 add: (i copied the 168 part and modify the id, the signature and the size of eeprom)

it resolve the new signature, and the new 1K of Ram (EEPROM), i'm not really sure about this but works (add here some tips)
